저희는 커피를 만드는 것 부터, 커피를 즐기기까지의 모든 경험을 디자인합니다.

Due to Covid-19, as the time spent at home increases, home cafes are popular.
However, it is not enough to replace the emotions that could be enjoyed at cafes.

We want to bring this unfulfilled sensibility into home.

코로나 19로 인해, 집에서 보내는 시간이 늘어나면서, 홈카페는 큰 인기를 끌게 되었습니다.
하지만, 이는 아직까지 카페에서만 즐길 수 있었던 감성을 대체하기에는 충분하지 않습니다.

저희는 이러한 충족되지 못하는 감성을 집으로 가져오고자 합니다.

In this regard, we were inspired by the method of extraction of the ‘Siphon’.

In addition to the visual pleasure of enjoying coffee,

we thought that the experience in the extraction process could reach a new point from the experience of coffee that people were familiar with before.

이러한 점에서, 저희는 사이폰 추출방식에서 영감을 받았습니다.
커피를 즐기는 시각적 즐거움 뿐만 아니라, 추출 과정에서의 경험은 기존에 익숙했던 커피의 경험에서

보다 새로운 지점으로 와닿을 수 있을 것이라 생각했습니다.

We wanted to take three major features from Siphon to the product.

In particular, we tried to maximize the emotional mood shown in the entire process of coffee extraction by utilizing analog operation method.

저희는 사이폰 머신으로부터 크게 3가지 특징을 제품에 가져가고자 합니다. 특히, 아날로그 작동방식을 활용하여,

커피 추출의 전 과정에서 보여지는 감성적인 무드를 극대화하고자 했습니다.

We call our brand user, 'cosier'.

These users can be named 'young, middle, family cosier' depending on their age and lifestyle,

but this shows the potential for our brand users to expand beyond any age group.

저희는 저희 브랜드의 유저를 'cosier'라고 부릅니다.

이러한 유저들은 연령과 라이프스타일에 따라서 'young, middle, family cosier'로 명명할 수 있지만,

이는 곧 저희의 브랜드 유저가 어느 한 연령대에 특정되지 않고 확장될 수 있는 가능성을 보여줍니다.

To provide a better experience for the cosier,

we proceeded with various things from sketching to actual prototyping.

We checked the actual size and ratio of the product through paper mock-up, 3D printing, etc.

저희는 유저에게 더 나은 경험을 제공하기 위해, 스케치부터 실제 프로토타이핑까지 다양하게 진행했습니다.
우리는 페이퍼 목업, 3D 프린팅 등을 통해 실제 제품의 크기, 비율 등을 확인했습니다.

COSIE is a coffee brand that creates a special product experience through the siphon and provides more personalized, customized content through the service. COSIE gives you a new visual experience in hearing, touch, taste, and smell where you could feel the existing coffee.

COSIE는 사이폰을 통해 특별한 제품의 경험을 만들고,

서비스를 통해 보다 개인화된 컨텐츠를 제공하는 커피 브랜드입니다.

COSIE는 기존에 커피에서 느낄 수 있었던 청각, 촉각, 미각, 후각 경험에 새로운 시각적 경험을 제공합니다.

The smooth curved top and clear GUI,
further enhances your coffee-blending experience.

부드러운 곡면을 가진 윗면과 직관적인 GUI는

당신의 커피 블랜딩 경험을 증진시켜줄 것입니다.

Add the appropriate amount of water that COSIE will guide you into the provided cup,

and fix it easily to the machine by just turning it clockwise.

COSIE의 안내에 따라 적정량의 물을 제공된 컵에 넣고, 시계방향으로 돌려 손쉽게 기계에 고정시킵니다.

When the machine starts working, the middle channel goes down, and the coffee blending starts.

The water goes up by the channel and the moody lighting turns on.

기계가 작동을 시작하면, 가운데 있는 통로가 아래로 내려가며 커피 블랜딩이 시작됩니다.

물이 통로를 통해 아래로 내려가고, 무드 있는 라이팅이 켜집니다.

Put some coffee beans

when the upper tray comes up.

Before making coffee, set it up to your taste and place the right amount of coffee bean in the upper tray.

커피를 만들기 전에, 취향에 맞게 맛을 설정하고 윗쪽 트레이에 알맞은 양의 커피가루를 넣습니다.

Steam out
automatically adjusted.

During the blending process,
the upper part automatically rises to adjust the amount of steam inside.

블랜딩이 진행되는 동안, 윗파트는 자동으로 올라와 내부의 스팀 양을 조절합니다.

Wash mode,
easily clear your product.

Just put water in a cup and turns on, our product cleans it automatically through the cleaning mode.
With this, You can enjoy COSIE cleanly whenever you want.

세척 모드를 통해, 컵에 물을 넣고 작동시켜 제품을 손쉽게 청소할 수 있습니다.
이를 통해,사용자가 원하는 언제든지 COSIE를 깨끗하게 즐길 수 있습니다.

Process

Borrowing the way the Siphon works,
we envisioned a mechanism in which coffee and water move up and down through a large channel in the middle. The existing alcohol lamp is replaced with induction,

and coffee blending is done using a difference in air pressure.

사이폰 작동방식에서 차용하여,

저희는 가운데에 있는 큰 통로를 통해 커피와 물이 위아래로 움직이는 작동방식을 고안했습니다.

기존에 존재하는 알코올 램프를 인덕션으로 대체하고, 기압차를 이용하여 커피 블랜딩을 진행합니다.

Middle part
Operating Structure

In the middle part, we wanted to express a structure that could implement the mechanism by which the channel moves up and down and the cup is fixed. Two pumps on both sides move and adjust tightening.

가운데 파트의 경우,

저희는 통로가 위아래로 움직이고 컵이 고정될 수 있는 작동방식을 표현하기 위해 구조를 보여주고자 했습니다.

양 옆에 있는 두개의 펌프가 움직이며 조임을 조절합니다.

Intuitive GUI design makes it easier for users to handle the product.

직관적인 GUI 디자인은 사용자가 제품을 다루기 쉽게 합니다.

If you adjust the amount of coffee and the concentration to suit your taste,

it will guide you to the amount of water and coffee bean needed.

취향에 알맞게 커피의 양과 농도를 조절하면, 필요한 물과 커피 가루의 양을 안내해줍니다.

When the machine starts coffee blending,

the remaining time is visually shown through rotating gradients and numbers.

기계가 커피 블랜딩을 시작하면, 돌아가는 그라데이션 링과 숫자를 통해 남은 시간을 시각적으로 보여줍니다.

We would like to deliver a sensuous experience by using the brand’s point color and gradient.
