The artist’s main reference and inspiration for this sculpture is the importance of our wildlife and heritage in the Philippines and therefore, the artist was able to create a piece revolving around the idea, with the symbolism of the tamaraw, that aims to inspire people and raise awareness. The deductive sculpture is an exploration of the utilization of the carving technique in forming the species and its surrounding with perla bar soap and a nail file.

The sculpture allows the viewers to be reminded that the tamaraw is one of the notable species and heritage that can only be found in our country as it symbolizes intelligence of the Filipino people. It also lets its audience take action to the current happenings, not only to the species, but also to our environment in general.

This is a sculpture that shows how our environment is a beautiful place filled with beautiful landscapes, exotic plants and species and we, as humans, are still capable of saving it.
