Materials, Processes, and Ideas
Materials: Illustrator, Lightroom App
Processes: Created a digital illustration based on a photo taken using the Lightroom app, Then I used the pen tool to create shapes.
Ideas: One thing I think a lot of people felt during the pandemic was that they were wasting the days they spent at home. Something I did to try to combat this was getting up early because it's hard to feel like you're doing anything when you wake up at noon and half of the day is already over. This is a photo I took of the sunrise at the beach while on an early morning run.
Practice, Experimentation, and Revision
Practice: I practiced this type of illustration on multiple different projects throughout this year, including the other sustained investigation projects that have a similar style to this.
Experimentation: I experimented with different shapes and colors for the ocean and the sky.
Revision: I had to revise this multiple times in order to get the right shapes, especially because the photo taken wasn't at a very high resolution and also due to the clouds being very complex shapes.
