Stock Market Dashboard (A concept)

A stock market dashboard concept for a new-age app.

Thought process explained below!
Through the design, I have positioned this app to be primarily
used by millennials.

Following are the considerations and assumptions which informed
the choices and omissions made in the design:

- Overwhelming majority of millennials are likely to use their mobile phones to invest and keep up to date with their investments

- They would rather not be faced with jargon

- How much the individual stock earned them is a more important piece of information than the actual stock value (traders, especially day-traders give a lot of relevance to
the stock’s actual value to drive their decisions)

- The time spent on the app at the moment is 2 minutes, it would be good to increase this

- While they may not want to be faced with jargon, they do want to feel well informed

- The company, Dollar, has taken on the role of not just a disinterested broker but an interested financial advisor too. They have developed an AI algorithm that seeks to give
advice based on the individual investor’s risk appetite. The company will issue proper legal notices wherever necessary

Following are the conclusions drawn from the above:

- A mobile-first design

- Information given out in first visible areas is carefully filtered to not overwhelm a rookie investor

- Social interaction and content added to increase time on app

- The visual design takes a cue from the usual investment apps to make a new investor feel like a part of ‘the gang’ but the information given upfront is carefully considered

- The company has an investment philosophy for new retail investors and it will push it through design decisions.
