new entrance to the church of San Michele

The building of the former parish church from the 12th century, located in a small village outside Pistoia, Italy, was sold by local authorities after falling into disrepair for many years. The property was taken over by a private owner with the intention of creating a place to taste local, unique sweets for which this region of Italy is famous. The new entrance to the church was to not disturb the historic facade of the church, at the same time invite interested people inside the building and offer a place for tasting sweets outside, among the greenery of a small, atmospheric square.
