Spring Calendar

Project completed Spring 2010
This project was an assignment given in the spring of 2010. The requirements included a separation into groups of four. Once we were given our partners, we were given the task of providing an alternative solution for a calendar. Our focus was on presenting a unique and interesting replacement for our rather bland calendars that we see everyday. Each person in our group was assigned a season to design for, I was assigned the season of Spring.

After much deliberation, our group decided to follow a retro-ish approach using modern design elements. We allowed ourselves to include our own personal design to follow our theme. One of my favorite elements in this piece is the view finder located in the bottom left. We used this "view finder" element to not only combined each one of our individual calendars together but to display our season's months/days. This project actually combines with three other projects.

I think what makes this design successful is the simplicity and effectiveness of the design elements to communicate to the viewer as well as the adherence to our theme retro-ish with mixed with modern elements.
