I would like to present to your attention my graduation work “Brand identity and package design for flowers and gift shop”.
Please, find below a short description of the project and exposition of its conception.
Every one of us bought as a gift or got offered a bunch of flowers at least once in a lifetime. Somebody make such presents quite often, trying to please his or her loved one, the others wait for some special occasions to come such as Birthday, Christmas or just a private memorable date.
Flowers are always in vogue and will hardly ever come out of it: too many are the events that would miss a lot without its vivid colours, delicate aroma and the joy they give to the people. We love them because they help us to express our sympathies, love, generosity, they help us to extenuate our guilt and bring another person into the good mood. That is why flowers business will always be on top �" it makes people happy.
We are all well aware of a Russian Christmas fairytale “12 Months” by Samuil Marshak: a cruel stepmother sends her stepdaughter to the forest to find some snowdrops because her own daughter is having a birthday the next day. In the cold and pitch dark night the girl comes across a bonfire where 12 brothers (who turn to be 12 months of the year themselves) are warming. They kindly help her out by making the flowers bloom in the middle of the winter so she could bring the whole basket of them back home.
We are aiming at doing the same: any season in our shop you will feel cozy and warm, and everybody will be able to find something they really need. Taking the name of “12 Months” we recreate the ambience of this fairytale, the one of kindness and magic with a little taste of mystery.
Any time of year, any flowers and gifts for any festive occasions: at wintertime we will offer you sunny and warmly-colored species such as sunflowers or gerberas and in the Christmas Eve you will always find Christmas Flower. In the summer wild flowers seem to be more appropriate as everyone tries to get out of the town and feel free in the countryside.
At the heart of the design concept underlies one basal element �"a stylized flower from the logo. All the ornaments are created by me, departing from it.
