MICRO - Microbe Animations in After Effects

Micro is an After Effects template I created that allows users to create their own realistic, custom microscopic animations in Adobe After Effects. The animations imitate what a scientist sees through a microscope. I was inspired to create this after seeing a number of films, even big-budget mainstream movies, that would feature a poorly animated, very clean and very 3D-looking microbial animation in scenes where a scientist was looking through a microscope. Real microscopic footage looks different - the camera movements are not smooth, it's grainy, dirty, and the microbes move quickly and erratically.

The template includes a variety of microorganisms to choose from, or the user can use the included tools to create your their own microscopic life form. Everything can be customized, including the microbe's swimming behavior and movement, as well as the environment the microbe is swimming in. Viruses, amoebas, parasites, bacteria, DNA, atoms, worms, germs, and sperms are a few of the included microbial species. Or, users can import a stock photo of a microbe, and use the effects to bring it life. A variety of common microbial behaviors are also included, so if a filmmaker needs an alien microorganism that self-replicates, multiplies, attacks another organism, dies, gets injected with a needle, or any of the other micro-scenarios in the video... this template would make that possible with minimal effort.
