In the past year, hate crimes towards Asians have been increasing tremendously to the alarming rate. There were over 3,800 anti-Asian racist incidents, mostly against women. It includes shunning, slurs and physical attacks. For the first quarter of 2021, new report finds 169 percent surge in Anti-Asian hate crimes.
It's not hard to say Asian-Americans have been going through the darkest time where they're not able to feel safe walking down the street or go grocery shopping.
Due to the current circumstance, Asian - Americans have joined hands and created a safe place for everyone especially elderly people. There are so many GoFundMe and organizations stepped out and use the power to support and protect the community. Thus, I want to use my skills to help my people - my community to spread the awareness and #stopAsianhate.
THE COLOR THEME
I wanted to make something powerful but still light-hearted. When we think of social justice graphic design, we tend to visualize bold, contrast and bright colors. Therefore, to showcase my creative voice, to stand out and to reach larger crowd, I decided to go with these colors.
