Women Of Influence New Zealand
In thinking about influential women in New Zealand – historically, professionally and in the social roles they hold in our modern lives – the symbolism in the unique culture and nature of Aotearoa was at the forefront of my mind during the creative process. The following illustrations reflect on the various roles and talents that women bring to New Zealand.   Who are we? Why are we here? What is our mission? The answer to these questions I represent in my work.
A woman is a symbol of energy – a new day. With every turn of the tide women wake and tackle our modern pace, bringing an integrated view and renewed momentum to structures of old. In line with the rise of the sun, women are the force that bring impetus, growth, and progress.
A woman is a symbol of Aotearoa – the cycle of nature. When night falls onto the land, her strength awakens. Through her own inner resilience, she gives energy, courage and calm to her surrounds.
A woman is not a monolith – she is everything and all. Together, women are vitality and vigor, crystallised by our collective obstacles.   We celebrate our contrasts for they make us formidable.
