#LOPPIS

LOPPIS is a fictive Flea Market Portal made for a thesis project at NABA. The project is made up of two main parts - thorough research and a communication strategy. Our main idea was to make a non-brand looking like a brand! We wanted to organize a portal to make it easier and more visible and available for our target. We wanted to create a "brand" that represents a mix of the old and the new. Our goal was to make flea markets more available, organized and appealing to the mass consumers, especially young women in Oslo, Norway.
The name "Loppis" is a nickname for what is called "Loppemarked" (flea market) in Norwegian. "Loppe" is also the Norwegian word for fleas and "Loppis" is a known common slang word used for flea markets. It is also a very fun and happy word, which we felt could represent our concept very well. Also catchy and easy to remember with a feminine tone to it, which suits our specific target.
We wanted LOPPIS to be a cultural portal - consisting of a functional website and an application. The portal provides information about flea markets arranged around in Oslo. The smart phone application is mainly focusing on where and when flea markets are held and how you can find and get to them, while the website also contains everything from the history of flea markets, inspiration, DIY (Do It Yourself), Instagram photos and links to secondhand stores and relevant information about this field of interest.
