binary coffee corp. is a product design project I developed based off of the character Elliot Alderson from award winning TV show Mr. Robot. I decided to do coffee based on the first scene of the show where Elliot ousts a coffee shop owner for his nefarious doings. Another factor was that Elliot is a vigilante hacker and is up almost every hour of the day and night, and could often need some coffee. I wanted the design to be very inspired by coding and hacking, so I built the primary logo out of common symbols used in coding and steered away from uppercase letters as they really don't appear in coding. The few exceptions being the "E" in binary as it is an Easter egg referring back to "E corp." from the tv show. The imagery on the bottle and coffee bag is a vector recreation of a famous scene from the show where Elliot sits down to talk with Mr. Robot. This project required a different kind of thinking than most traditional branding and I can't wait to explore this genre more.
