Font Study: Gotham

It all started with a table and a set of upside-down facing cards. Everyone was asked to choose a card which contained a font and was instructed to research anything and everything you could about it: who designed it, what inspired it, how it's most commonly used, etc.. The overall focus of the project was to become the resident expert on a font, which would be displayed in a two series poster depicting 12 distinct characteristics of the font and a little history behind the making of it.
The final characteristic poster had to display 12 disctinct characteristics of the font, the font name, the year the font was designed, the entire alphabet, numbers, symbols, and the font's classification. The final content poster must contain 1000 - 1500 words about the font/designer, a title, name of the designer, birth/death of the designer, one quote, and a pull quote.

The process of finalizing the two posters involved individual font studies, exploration, and toward the end of the project, simple tweaking and color choices.
