After recovering from Covid last year, I decided to explore a mostly unseen and undiscovered part of Kutch - a land of extremely diverse landscapes on India's west coast. Even though I was born here and spent my teen years here, I had hardly ventured beyond the popular hotspots. Coming across this isolated beach with a very small fishing village next to it (with zero directions from any major road network), I was stuck by its sheer flatness and silence. Hardly any wind. No sound of waves crashing, but rather lapping the flat wet earth with barely a whisper, and almost no human presence. The small fishing fleet was grounded temporarily for reasons unknown to me, and there was no one around to ask. In barely 45 mins or so, the light went from harsh and piercing white/yellow to a tolerable orange, giving the place even more mystique and desolation. Devoid of life yes, but full of nature in its almost pristine glory.
