EPISODE 1 RETROSPECTIVE
Directing Episode 1 was the most challenging part of the entire shooting experience.  The episode was riddled with uneven composition and poor shot choices (of which I made the majority of.  Dicing out schedule compatibility and maintaining continuity between shots proved more difficult than anticipated.
While the thought to film hand-held inside of a moving vehicle seemed like the perfect solution at the time, a steady-cam or a tripod with a surface to dampen the vibrations would have been a more practical solution to avoid shaky camerawork.  In the future we cut down on the amount of vehicle-interior shots.
While the delivery of lines from our talent was well delivered, the framing of this scene was not.  Sumton's early episodes were mainly focused on long, unbroken dialogue deliveries from static positions: this is addressed more as the series continued.
