To me, thinking is moving. When I sit still, my brain gets stuck in the same state of inescapable repetition. In order to get into the proper rhythm and elude creative frustration, I must get up and physically expunge the old, stale ideas from my mind. I must constantly be moving. This swim-to-survive mentality has resulted in a myriad of abstract visual representations of me jittering and muttering to myself.

As soon as I had narrowed-down the images in this collection, I noticed that the aforementioned sense of movement was present throughout all of them. This same visual motif was so familiar to me that I didn’t notice it at first. It is almost as if the feeling of movement is built into my DNA, like I simply can’t help but make images that are aggressively abstract, intensely alive, and constantly in motion.
