Poster Design: Taking a Stand

The client for this project was PBS, who needed a poster to advertise a documentary they were airing on the civil rights movement. The target audience was teenagers, who weren't alive at the time of the civil rights movement, and probably don't know enough about it, as well as adults that enjoy historical documentaries and reenactments. The message that I'm trying to convey through this poster is one of strength and resilience. I achieved this partially by modeling it after actual picket signs from this era. The purpose of the poster is to draw people in and get them to tune into their program to earn about an important part of American History.
