Stories unfolding around us in B&W. Vol 5
When I started my journey in street photography I had to learn how to observe my surroundings for the stories that lay hidden. It took me a lot of walking and a lot of reading of the street photography masters work, to start seeing these stories.
Originally with a telephoto lens, as the fear of confrontation was clear and always present. Then, as this fear started backing up, I saw myself moving closer to my subjects and realised that this was the only way to record the stories that unfolded around me.
Through this approach I learned a lot both about myself and the people around me. These confrontations, more often than not , led to some amazing stories been confined to me from total strangers and I will be forever grateful to street photography that gave me the opportunity to experience that feeling.
This is the fifth and final volume of that project. A project that was intended as a reminder of the beauty that goes unnoticed due to our fast and relentless pace of living. We owe it to ourselves to find time to notice that beauty around us. We owe it to ourselves to stop …..take a breath and connect to one another.
