Using Kurt Vonnegut's, The Big Trip Up Yonder, the client asked for many deliverables - A full book cover illustration, three chapter illustrations, three chapter illustrations for a Kindle Paper-white, and an Amazon's 'Look Inside'. This short story is an ominous and quite eerie tale about the disadvantage's of eternal youth. I was inspired by Roald Dahl's children's stories illustrated by artist, Quentin Blake. I wanted to keep the illustrations fun and whimsical, yet dark and eerie at the same time. The time period of this book takes place in 2158 A.D., so I wanted this book and the pages to be old, torn, and worn-out. The cover has a presence of youth as it is still intact, yet it's aged - like the characters in this short story.
