Life in Skala as seen from my eyes
(Note: Skala is a big village located in the island of Kefalonia that I grew up in and personally, it took me years to realise how messed up life feels like in Skala itself yet I don't really like life there. This visual story telling shows some examples of the reasons why.)
First page, represents a pattern made out of some photos I found of the village from the Internet to give an example that the village itself, from the outside is beautiful and very nice but on the inside, as we are going to see on the next pages, there are terrible behaviours and traits that messed life up in it.

(Note 2: I used the picture of the village as seen from a higher view, because I wanted to show within my chosen pictures that these basic terrible behaviours illustrated in pictures and photos, that it is tiring to live a life full of toxicity, manipulation, trouble making, feeling like as if you're being improsoned which feels like you have no freedom at all for nothing, hiding your real feelings behind a mask and basicaslly, being aware of toxic people so metaphorically, wear a mask to protect yourself from them, are taking place in the whole village. So we have to do with a very toxic society there.)

(Note 3: Yes, when people have something to put the blame on you, no matter if it's taking place in the village, school or any workplace such as a hotel, despite that they can start yelling and being angry with you, they do show a very toxic behaviour and of course, they can show domestic violence, yet they can judge you from your past without even thinking what must have caused it and so, drive you into false accusations and conclusions that might be very confusing and make you feel sad in the end. Most of the times, when someone is controlling/manipulating you, you are unable to move on and set yourself free yet it's hard to move on from the past because they pull you back even when you make a step forward. So it feels like you're being trapped.)

(Note 4: In my village, I wanted to represent what most people of the society focalise on which is another reason why society is toxic but you yourself is the only one who doesn't focalise on what the rest of the society does. So you break the mask that you're forced to hide behind and you're not being toxic.)

Fifth page, represents (some) signs that lead you to the conlusion of being manipulated.
Sixth page, represents a pattern made out of more photos I searched on the internet as an example to show that life in Skala, has a bright side too.

This collage project occurred during a college project for the exams period but it is more  expressive due to my points of view about life in it and how I felt it like.
The conclusion that we are being lead to, is that life in Skala has both a dark and a bright side on it's inside but mostly, the darkness takes over and less the brighter side. Let's not judge it from its "cover" (I mean, its appearance as a village itself) but from its "content" (how residents behave like). So it is separated into six parts: Appearance on the outside (first page), toxic behaviours, violence, manipulation (basically all presented in second, third, fourth and fifth pages because I am being very analytic about these traits and behaviours) and happiness (sixth page).
