Between 2010 and 2020, I photographed my next door neighbor resulting in a series of photographs that appear objective despite my close relationship with the subject. 
Since no family member of Mahpeyker, whose family origins date back to the Ottoman Empire, is alive, there are no 1st degree family relatives anymore. 

Mahpeyker is still actively practicing as a psychologist. She can externalize her inner world in the form of her style and home very well and says the following about the items she does not throw away; “My stuff is my life. There is no one who has witnessed my life other than these items. I don't want anything to happen to any of them, they are my everything.”

Most of us are potential Mahpeykers. I photographed this portrait photography project over the years and now there are other witnesses besides the objects.
