KTEC Welcome Packet

Unique folder and brochure design for the Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum shimmers

PROJECT OVERVIEW:
When interested parents and local business leaders arrive at KTEC, a unique charter school with a STEM-focus located in Kenosha, Wis., they're handed this packet filled with information.  The full piece consists of a beautiul indigo blue folder with varnished accents, four brochures and a simple notepad. The goals of the project were to create a unique piece that would make KTEC stand above other school options and establish the school's reputation as an education leader.  The folder, created from a sheet of soft touch paper from the SKIN Curious collection begs to be handled. Inside four brochures provide information about the school's unique LEGO Robotics, Project Lead the Way and Garden programs. Summer 2013.
DEFINING THE NEED:
In terms of innovation, KTEC stands above nearly all of the schools in the Kenosha Unified School District. The school's unique focus on STEM education has drawn interest from from local industry leaders including Snap-on Tools. The school's principal Dr. Angela Andersson and other staff often lead educational tours of the school for these business leaders and families interested in the school. These tours generated the need for a take away information packet. Before my time at Corporate Images, Inc. a small brochure was developed to provide basic information about the school. At the genesis of this project, that brochure provided a launching point for the unique size of the remaining brochures, folder and notepad.
FULL PACKAGE:
The folder is constructed from a single sheet of 100 lb. indigo SKIN Curious, a unique matte paper resistant to fingerprinting. The printing, done at Badger Press Photographics, Inc. in Kenosha, Wis. consists of a single hit of high gloss varnish. The printing produces a subtle effect that begs to be seen and touched. The folder was designed to hold four brochures and a welcome letter highlighting some unique programs at the Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum.
SHIMMER EFFECT:
The various puzzle pieces, pulled from the KTEC logo, really sparkle in there imposition on the matte paper stock. It is a truly fantastic effect achieved with economical means.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
The Corporate Images team also developed a small notepad to complement the folder and brochures. In aggregate, the folder and notepad make the perfect giveaway to educate parents, business people and the greater Kenosha community about the great things going on at the Kenosha School of Technology Enhanced Curriculum.
A PERFECT PAIR:
This small notepad, designed to look like a sheet of loose leaf paper, is a giveaway that allows visitors to take notes as they move throughout the school. The notepads size was paired to the welcome folder to create a cohesive package.
