Trionymphus Salamandus turn around.

The creature project started with an inspiration that later turns into a concept idea. The inspiration started with an aquatic critter that combines with other life forms like salamander and dragonfly nymph. The result gave rise to a Creature Concept Idea Trionymphus Salamandus. Trionymphus underwent a few redesigns from Creature Concept to 3D Model Revision.

Creating a painterly environment for Trionymphus was simple since the project allows me to use reference images of existing habitats. Also, Trionymphus 3D Model was an engaging step as I map out how to model the creature either by dividing a block model into three segments and later combine them into one piece for the body. Making the limb for the creature was difficult at first since the model involves creating feet and fingers that correspond with the vertex and edge loops but was figure out later on in class. Then when it came to mirror the creature it saves me a lot of time from making another limb for the other half of the models. Afterward, everything came out well for the creature scenes.
There was some technical difficulty along the way for the creature model.

Learning to plug in the right nodes for the creature textures in hyper-shade. Painting the creature texture in Mudbox as it glitches out once in a while. Weight painting and rigging the creature was time-consuming since I was not used to rigging and weight painting yet. Lastly figuring out why Maya keeps on over saturating the creature's skin textures.

Overall, this project was a great learning experience as it encourages me to look up online techniques and tutorials for rigging that will play a role in the next future projects.
