A car or an auto may represent a huge amount of stuff. For most of the people it has one and simple meaning, a way of transportation a way to go from point A to point B, and not much more than that.
Or simply a waste of money or a money pit where the majority of the real Car Enthusiast (the one that actually spends money customising or developing the performance of ones car) are classed in by the common person that does not understand the culture, passion and relationship that can be achieved with an object that object being the car, a goal an achievement in life a sense of freedom that most of the things can't give you the experience of.

Um carro ou um automóvel pode representar uma grande variedade de ideias ou emoções. Para a maioria das pessoas tem só um simples significado. Um meio de transporte, um meio de chegar a partir do ponto A ao ponto B e não muito mais que isso. Ou simplesmente um desperdício de dinheiro ou um empate onde a maioria dos entusiastas automóveis praticantes (aqueles que gastam dinheiro em modificações ou personalizações seja ela a nível de performance ou estética) são classificados pelo publico geral que não compreende a cultura automóvel. A paixão e a relação que consegue ser adquirida face um objecto, esse objecto sendo um automóvel, um objectivo ou uma marca como um pequeno feito na vida algo pelo qual é necessário algum sacrifico espera e investimento, que proporciona um sentido de liberdade que muito poucos objectos o conseguem realizar.

Its much more than the cars or the money heart and souls that we pour into them, Its about the community, the friendships, the camaraderie, the family that brings it all together and the ones we share our knowledge with one and other as we help each other with our projects...

Society likes to think of us as the popular media likes to portrait, they like to think that we (the tuners or the modification and automotive enthusiasts) are a bunch of delinquent youth, hoodlums, or trouble makers that like to street race perform stunts and put others life’s in danger and we are nothing more than a menace to society.

A sociedade gosta de pensar em nós como os media popular nos retrata, gostam de pensar que nós (tuners ou entusiastas de carros modificados ou de modificações a nível de performance) somos um monte de jovens delinquentes, vadios ou arruaceiros que gostam de fazer corridas de rua (ilegais) ou fazer manobras na via publica e que potencialmente pomos a vida dos outros em perigo sempre que pomos pé na estrada e nada mais que uma ameaça à sociedade.

But like every other sport or hobby there will always be a sour apple and the back sweet ones.
The truth is that the majority of us are actually responsible adults who enjoy driving the things we create.
Driving... Its a mean of freedom, freedom to go where we want, when we want, the freedom to be in control, we chunder those who street race and praise the ones who keep it in the track.
Driving for hours to be with a group of friends to have that fresh beverage and talk about car and enjoy the design and machine that each one possesses to share experiences and emotion about such a great thing that we all have in common.

Mas como qualquer outro desporto ou passa-tempo ha de sempre haver um lado doce e um lado azedo da equação, a verdade é que a maioria de nós (entusiastas automóveis e amantes de desporto automóvel) somos adultos responsáveis e com maior noção de segurança em estrada, em que tiramos partido e desfrutamos da condução daquilo que construímos e criamos.
Conduzir, representa a liberdade.. a liberdade de ir a qualquer lugar e a qualquer altura que nos apeteça, a liberdade de estar no controlo. Desprezamos aqueles que fazem corridas ilegais em meios ou vias pouco seguras e respeitamos aqueles que o levam para uma area designada e segura. A pista.
Conduzir durante horas e kilometros para estar com um grupo de amigos, beber aquela gelada e falar sobre carros e desfrutar do design da engenharia do automóvel que cada um possuí e para partilha experiências e emoções sobre algo tão bom que todos conseguimos ter em comum.
