27 CLUB /// VISUAL IDENTITY

Nowadays most people know what the 27 Club is about and what happened to its members, and so do I. But that was not the case when I was a kid. No one had explained the every-single-one-of-them-is-dead part to me, so I just thought they were all friends. And since they were friends, they had decided to form their own club (du-uh!).

Of course that makes no sense at all. Mostly because Jimi Hendrix (who died in the 70s) had little chance of meeting Amy Winehouse (who was born years after that), for instance. And even less of a chance of befriending her. As I said, I was just a kid.

Still, thinking of them as a group of friends makes me forget about the tragic part of the story for a moment. And, undoubtedly, there is something about friendship that makes it seem stronger than death. So I built this identity around the concept of living forever. Not only because that is what friendship means to me, but also because although they may have left us already, their music never will.

That said, the headstone-shaped logo just works.
