The Guardian and Portugal

This project base is an analysis of The Guardian articles. This articles were studied through a created database that contains all the journal articles regarding Portugal from the year 2000 to 2010.
The metaphor created to represent all this data is related to the minimum knowledge that Portuguese culture takes place in UK.
Therefore the Portuguese culture was represented as an Iceberg, in which the surfacing area represents what is mentioned by the Guardian in terms of the Art, Design, Music, Book and Film categories. Regarding the submerged part, it’s understood as a big slice of it which is not known or talked about the British journal.

*It’s important to acknowledge that the infographic represents only the most talked Portuguese people mentioned in the articles, not by devaluing them but only in an attempt to transmit in a more understandable and direct way what parts of the Portuguese culture is seen.
