DE DRUK
De Druk is a film from 2017. The film is part of a project that was supported by the judiciary and the NPRZ to discuss the social problem of the pressure of street culture.
Story
The film is about life on the street and making the wrong choices. De Druk provides a realistic picture of what life is like on the street and how difficult it is to escape the influence of the living environment.
The film tells a fictional version of Reggery Gravenbeek's life story. Despite the fact that he comes from an environment where many young people end up in crime, he was known for his talent for sports. As a teenager he was therefore a positive example for the children in his neighborhood. But one day that positivity has come to an end.
Approach
I approached these tests and sketches based on the story. That two best friends experienced a heartbreaking event in their life, that as a consequence one of them will eventually end up in jail.
That is how I came up with the ripped paper in a form of "behind bars in jail".
