Blast from the past
is a competition entry for Tivoli Audio PAL CASE contest 2008. Design competition was arranged by Tivoli Audio, Ornamo- Finnish association of designers and Glorian Koti Magazine.
Design brief was to design new object inspired by PAL radio. Object could be functional, accessory, piece of art or what ever comes to a mind as long it is connected to the PAL radio somehow.
Competition entry is a ghetto blaster sculpture, which is integrated with Tivoli Audio PAL radio.

Sculpture was collaboration with two designer colleagues, Eetu Kivimäki and Jaakko Laurila.
Idea of the concept was to make the old school ghetto blaster sculpture, where PAL radio can be integrated as a part of the sculpture. The sculpture is made out of SPU- construction board and MDF- board and it is finished with pen spray gun.
Jury of the competition was formed by the Finnish designers Stefan Lindfors, Harri Kalliomäki, Glorian Koti magazine editor in chief Minna Juti, design manager Laura Sarvilinna, art collector Erling Neby and musician Jyrki Linnankivi. Jury was pleased about the winning sculptures concept idea and was impressed of the finished product.
Sculpture was exhibited at Habitare -Ahead! 2009 and Ornamo exhibition, and it was also featured at the Glorian Koti- magazine 03/2009 and Ornamo magazine 02/2009.
