O Projeto consiste na elaboração e Redesign da capa e contracapa do disco de vinil “Roll the Bones” lançado pela banda Canadense “Rush” no ano de 1991, partindo do estudo visual da estética do disco original e da música “Roll the Bones” que dá nome ao álbum, foi proposta uma nova solução gráfica mantendo-se o conceito que carrega a capa original porem com uma nova solução gráfica.
The Project consists of the elaboration and Redesign of the cover and back cover of the vinyl record "Roll the Bones" released by the Canadian band "Rush" in 1991, starting from the visual study of the aesthetics of the original disc and the song "Roll the Bones" that gives the album its name, a new graphic solution was proposed, maintaining the concept that carries the original cover, but with a new graphic solution.
Rush foi uma banda canadense de rock progressivo que tem sua formação no ano de 1968 na cidade de Toronto. Tornou-se conhecida pelas habilidades instrumentais de seus integrantes trazendo composições complexas e letras que abordam conceitos como fantasia, filosofia e ficção-científica, vendendo em 40 anos de existência mais de 40 milhões de discos e conquistando diversos prémios nacionais e internacionais, como os prémios Juno Awards do Canadá e vários Grammys.
Rush was a Canadian progressive rock band that was formed in 1968 in the city of Toronto. It became known for the instrumental skills of its members, bringing complex compositions and lyrics that approach and concepts such as fantasy, philosophy and science-fiction, selling in 40 years of existence, more than 40 million records and winning several national and international awards such as Canada's Juno Awards and several Grammys in the States.

Concept
O conceito do álbum "Roll the Bones", parte da música de mesmo nome e que dá o título ao álbum que, por sua vez, influenciou a estética visual de sua capa. A letra fala sobre as chances que temos na vida e as coisas que acontecem ao acaso e como todos nós fazemos parte de um mundo onde nos mesmos fazemos nosso destino.
"Roll the Bones" pode ser interpretado no sentido literal de sua tradução em dois sentidos, role os ossos ou role os dados, porque nos países de língua inglesa, ossos também pode significar dados nesse caso, pois, era a matéria-prima que se utilizava para constituir os mesmos, como o marfim por exemplo.
Partindo deste conceito, a musica nos faz compreender que o acaso exerce o papel central em nossas vidas, algo que pode ser interpretado com sorte ou a falta dela.
Ao mesmo tempo que temos as nossas escolhas e nosso livre-arbítrio, e essas escolhas irão afetar o nosso destino, temos que jogar ou rolar os dados para ver o que o acaso tem a nos oferecer. Nada esta escrito definitivamente e nossos destinos estão relacionados a uma serie de fatores, o que nos resta é apenas rolar os dados.
The concept of the album "Roll the Bones", part of the song of the same name and which gives the title to the album, which, in turn, influenced the visual aesthetics of that of its cover. The lyrics talk about the chances we have in life and the things that happen at random and how we are all part of a world where we make our destiny in ourselves. Roll the Bones can be interpreted in the literal sense of its two-way translation, roll the bones or Roll the Dice, because in English-speaking countries, bones can also mean data in this case, because it was the raw material that was used for constitute the same, such as ivory for example. Starting from this concept, music makes us understand that chance plays a central role in our lives, something that can be interpreted with luck or the lack of it. At the same time that we have our choices and our free will, and those choices will affect our destiny, we have to roll or roll the dice to see what chance has to offer us. Nothing is definitively written and our destinies are related to a series of factors, what we have left is just to roll the dice.

Gambling houses and casino
From the visual aesthetics of the album, a new graphic solution was proposed where the same theme and concept was placed on the cover and back cover, but with a new and different graphic formulation. The symbologies of data and gambling have been combined to form a new graphic solution where the symbologies of casinos and gaming houses are combined with the idea present in the lyrics of the song where chance and luck are part of our life and act as primordial abundance in driving our destinations.
Greek mythological element (Perseus and the eye of the Moiras)
Also added was an element present in Greek mythology, however in a very subtle and not so explicit way the eye of the Greas. That in Greek mythology they are portrayed as three sisters who were tasked by the Gods with the task of taking care of the destiny of all beings, Gods or mortals. They dissolve everything that happens to control and determine the fate of everyone. The three together had one tooth and one eye. Tasked with guarding the path that led to the gorgon's home, they were tricked by the hero Perseus, where he stole his one eye so that the three of them could fall asleep at the same time that he could carry out his feat without danger. This symbolism appears in the graphic solution through the illustration of the eye present in the character's tie on the cover. And it represents the idea that opposes a destiny already written and puts you as the owner of your own destiny.

Conclusão
A nível de desafio proposto pelo tema do trabalho a conclusão do projeto se deu como esperado. A solução gráfica escolhida para o redesenho da capa e contracapa respeitou o conceito e ideia principal passada pela letra e composição que do nome ao álbum, propondo; além de uma releitura usando técnicas de ilustração para representar a ideia, uma estética nova.
Embora em comparação com o original, o redesign, tanto da capa quanto da contracapa tenham ficado esteticamente diferentes, os aspetos principais do conteúdo original foram respeitados, como a parede de dados e a tipografia do nome da banda formada por eles.
Essa aproximação não foi encarada como uma regra e sim como uma escolha pessoal de um especto que juguei visualmente interessante e que precisaria ser mantido. Por fim, fiquei bastante satisfeito com o resultado obtido.

At the level of challenge proposed by the theme of the work, the conclusion of the project went as expected. The graphic solution chosen for the redesign of the cover and back cover respected the concept and main idea passed by the letter and composition that of the name of the album, proposing; in addition to a reinterpretation using illustration techniques to represent the idea, a new aesthetic. Although compared to the original, the redesign, both of the cover and the back covers were aesthetically different, the main aspects of the original content were respected, such as the data wall and the typography of the band name formed by them. This approach was not seen as a rule, but as a personal choice of a subject that I thought was visually interesting and that would need to be maintained. Finally, I was very satisfied with the result obtained.
