Aroma Packaging
Aroma is a swedish company specialized in sweets and candies, born in Stockholm more than 90 years ago they make of tradition one of their strong points.
Their business is focalized in the field of pick and mix, bulk candies and sweets sold in specialist shops and supermarkets.
While some of their products already use special packaging, usually pick and mix doesn't require it.
The company asked us to design a line of packaging to reposition some of the pick and mix products in the premium market and expand the sale to a much larger target.
The decision was to focus on the concept of candies box as a pleasant gift to receive and give at every age. We choose a series of lomographic pictures, colored but sometimes melancholic and dreamy, that would function as collectible "cover" for our packaging.
We went for a cylindrical box, made out of metal, with an easy to close and reopen lid, to permit a better conservation; metal is also a material easy to recycle.
A simple infographic identifies the product in the inside and the percentage of ingredients used.
The fairtrade logo in evidence informs the consumer about the transparency of the company.
After the feedback of the company we semplified the graphical part of the design and we left out the pictures to focalize on pictograms and infographics. We also decided to differentiate the design of different products.
The form of the sweets are represented in first sight will be golden to recall quality and the premium segment aimed, the colors and the practical form of the pack make this product a pleasant gift to give and receive.
The metal can will be covered in colored paper with a puch and pull metal lid on top.

Our chosen construction is easy to use, open and re-seal. You just have to remove one little sticker that is a guarantee that it has never been opened. Then you lift up the lid easily just by grabbing the little edge that sticks up. You can either pick up or pour out sweets. The lid can be put on and off thousands of times without loosing grip. This construction works with all types of sweets from jelly hearts to chocolate. It is possible to produce this in different sizes for different amounts.
