Plant Stickers

The goal of this project was to make three stickers that are creative and an original design.They needed to look professional and would want to make people put them on their personal items like laptops, water bottles, and journals. The objective I wanted to accomplish is plant theme stickers that are for people who love plants or love the aesthetic that the stickers give.

Sketching Process

The sketching process was long for me. I knew from the beginning of this project I wanted to do a plant theme. I started looking up different plants for a reference. I went through many different types of plants. I sketched out many different ones as well seeing which ones I liked the most. I also knew that I wanted to do a sticker that was a phrase or a plant with a phrase with it.

I sketched out a lot of different ideas and decided on 3 designs I liked the most. I chose to do a cacti, a succulent with a phrase and a smaller plant.

DRAFT

I started out with 3 different shaped pots for each of the plants. I wasn't quite sure on what colors I wanted to use yet so I just put some random colors to get an idea. I also was trying to decide if I wanted to put a darker color stroke. It definitely was a challenge for me. I wanted to take the design and style but make it look professional.

I decided on the stroke for the design. I changed my colors to more sudden colors. This was my final draft. I shared it with people to get feedback on the design. I gained a lot of insights and advice. People shared that the middle plant was a little too busy and needed some more work. Also the succulent plant needed to find it's silhouette more to make it have the sticker design. I took that advice and went back to work.

Back to sketching....

I wasn't liking the middle plant anymore so I decided to take the that out of the picture. I needed to go back to sketching out a few different ideas. I wanted to do a sticker staying "Plant Lover" so I sketched out a few ideas. I chose to take "plant lover and make that a sticker itself and just put the succulent on its own. It looked more professional that was with the text by itself.

THE FINAL DESIGN

Here is my final stickers. I'm so happy with the choices that I made for my final stickers. I realized when things get hard its always good to go back to the sketch book. I was able to create the designs I wanted for my plant stickers and was able to meet the objective. I was able to take my stickers and put them on a printed on demand site called Redbubble. I was able to upload them and see them on a site where they look professional. I created different mock ups of the stickers to see how they would look on different things. They are up for sell on Redbubble.com.
