Columbia Writer Series
This a project I did for a writing festival that was happening in my college. We were to make a poster and a postcard to bring attention to the event. It was meant to serve as advertisement. My theme was pnw, both with color scheme and layout.
This is the poster I made for the event. It is easy to see that the main focus is the 30th number in the center of the poster. It was the 30th year of the festival, and the client wanted that to be the main focus. Another focus was supposed to be the different speaker that were going to participate at the festival.
The postcard is also in theme, with the use of a watercolor texture as a main focus. Once again the main focus is the number 30 and the different speakers for the event.
This was my moodboard for the project. I like to make moodboards before the start of every project because it helps me stay focused as to what mood and feeling I'm trying to convey on that project. Having a color scheme is very helpful to stay in focus.
My main color is dark green, it's my point color. The navy blue is considered a secondary color and the brown is the highlight; for contrast. The light green and blue are considered background colors.
Posters
This poster is for another event; this one meant to draw attention to the different art programs offered by Clark College. There was no parameters for this project aside from the fact that we were to utilize all the text that was given to us. And finding a creative way to use the slogan "draw us in".
Rack Card
This Rack Card was made to advertise the new student center. We were to use the green/blue color scheme of SCC. All pictures are taken and edited by me.
Magazine Layout
This magazine layout is the first project I completed in InDesign. I was able to learn a lot from this project. Sush having a uniform look is very important, and a lot harder to achieve than it looks.

Bookmarks
I remember there was a lot of steps I took to create this bookmark. At first I drew a few different sketches of astronauts before picking one, and redrawing it in Illustrator. I like the idea of an astronaut on a bookmark because they explore space. Which is a seemingly endless place; always expanding. Just like our minds as we continue to read and learn.
