Layered Butter is a Canadian independent film magazine.
The goal was to create a magazine that showcases a director, theme or topic and pairs it with the best art that relates to that specific topic, as well as fun and critical analysis. We want to provide a creative platform for film and art discussion.
Studio Ghibli has been a powerhouse in animation for decades. The work of the studio has garnered international awards, box office success and a devoted fan following. What really lies at the heart of Ghibli is the success in story telling and being able to connect with audience no matter what the topic may be. We profiled that in issue 5 of Layered Butter.
