This piece of work is from the pre cloud era. One still had to backup their contacts on a computer somewhere or worse yet, write it down. LG offered a service whereby they could help you backup the contacts from your LG phone.

 

This is a creative demonstration of what would happen if you were to lose all the contacts from your past.
