After a 2018 diagnosis of early-onset Parkinson’s Disease, American rower Todd Vogt wasn’t sure if he would be able to continue with the sport he’d come to know and love over the last twenty years. Yet within a year after his initial diagnosis, he made the choice to try out for the US Para-Rowing team, and low-and-behold successfully landed himself a spot on the US Paralympic National Team. With this new avenue to continue his passion for rowing, Vogt finds himself vying for a chance to make it into the boat that will compete in the 2020 Paralympic Games this summer in Tokyo. Todd, and his coach Susan Wood have graciously allowed me to tag along both in, and out of the boat as he trains during the months leading up to the Paralympic Games.
