A deliciously intimate yet devastatingly poignant depiction of unbridled passions and unrequited love, Tchaikovsky’s lyrical masterpiece returned to ENO in a new staging by Deborah Warner. The show then moved to the Metropolitan Opera in NYC in 2013, directed by Deborah Warner and Fiona Shaw and conducted by Valery Gergiev.

 

The piece features seven breaks and intervals for set changes. We projected a series of seasonal scenic images in these breaks, setting the wider world of the Larin Estate and titling each Act.
