Obesity in Mexico has tripled in less than two decades. After analyzing the nutritional quality and frequency of consumption of snacks by clerks and university students in Mexico City, I realized most of this food isn’t contributing to this people’s health.
Because of this and my interest in Food Design, I created a brand called Alegría, Spanish word for happiness and amaranth bar.
Every product is mainly made with amaranth and Isomalt. A kind of sugar that can be eaten by diabetic people, because it doesn’t raise glucose levels. They also contain different nuts and dry fruits to offer a wider range of flavors. Each snack provokes the consumer to personalize the amount and flavor.
