In the past I have dealt with an insecurity over the music I listen to. I understood it was unnecessary but the idea of sharing my favorite songs gave me anxiety. This was a school project and we were supposed to pick a musical artist and create a promotional poster for a hypothetical event. This work represents me being comfortable enough to create a tour poster for my favorite musical artist Louis Futon. He is an electronic dance DJ. The poster is advertising a tour of the album he had just released. It was very fun to visualize the sounds he makes and insert those visualizations onto a poster. The typography used is custom type so I also had to think about the use of type and how it relates to the feeling of the music. I had to do all this in order to reach the artist’s already established audience.
