ie CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP II professor : Manuel Pérez Romero
The subject is a workshop divided in two main guidelines: the Frankenstein Strategy and the Catastrophe. Both are related teaching methods together with the technique language developed during the Construction Systems II (CSII) subject. Meanwhile the CSII work is structured over isolated layers, the present subject work is a layer addition system. The student will follow an evolutionary method from a simple object to a hyper-complex organization.
Fig. 1- The technique language structure: from isolated layers (CSII- Construction Systems II) to the layers superposition (CWII- Construction Workshop II).
The student will start a non-linear process that will end up in an unexpected artefact. The catastrophe is the first step of the process that will lead the student to a catastrophic change of the material and the structure of the selected example from the TELA. This selected example will condition all the future steps of the students work. The use and the program of the selected example should be kept through all the process, regardless of the CAST and the FRAST. The future additions cannot destroy the initial use of the selected example.
