This project is my diploma project in Warsaw University od Technology. It is located in Konstancin-Jeziorna, south of Warsaw. Cultural Center will be in the middle of new city center, next to most important places in Konstancin (shopping center Stara Papiernia, Zdrojowy Park and new city hall).
Konstancin-Jeziorna doesn't have many places where people can go after work or school and meet friends. The main idea of the project is to create such space. Space where people can gather togheter and spend their free time. Designed building will be a place, where kids and adults can take part in workshops and also have some fun.
Building is surrounded by chaotic single-family housing from north and by beautiful green area in the south. There will be a lot of visual openings in the south, so interior and exterior can interweave. Cultural Center will be connected to Stara Papiernia and Park Zdrojowy by creating platform-paths in the green area.
Urban analysis:
The main idea for the building shape and interior was an inspiration of the city character. Konstancin is mostly covered by pine forest and single-famile houses. I wanted to create the impression of the surrounding inside the builidng.
Cultural Center consists of two different spaces: the first is more privat workshop space (houses) and the second - public exhibition and open space (forest).
