My favourite cars that I never saw
Even though I started watching Formula-1 with my grandfather at a very young age, I'm not old enough to have seen any of these monsters while they were actively racing. My fascination for them came later as I was trying to quench my thirst for the pinnacle of motorsport in the off-season or between race weekends. Watching footage of old races, reading stories from the designers and mechanics made me appreciate these machines even more.
1977 - Brabham BT45B
Blast from the past, the Brabham BT45 designed by Gordon Murray featuring a Martini Racing livery.
1986 - Lotus 98T
An iconic duo of Ayrton Senna and his Lotus 98T in famous JPS livery from 1986.
1989 - Benetton B189
Although it was fast enough to win the Japanese Grand Prix(with Senna’s DQ), the B189 is remembered for its colourful looks and not for its performance.
1991 - Jordan 191
The Jordan 191 was a jaw-droppingly gorgeous start to a team that would lead a long and varied Formula-1 career. Despite its good looks it was plagued by serious reliability issues, but it will forever be in the history books for giving Michael Schumacher his first ever drive.
1992 - Williams FW14B
Nigel Mansell’s beautiful world championship winning Williams FW14B from 1992.
Hope you enjoyed this little collection, I'll be be working on expanding it!
