First semester project developed in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Catalunya.
We were asked to increase the amount and quality of the public space in this district of Barcelona's metropolitan area. The Townhall has a plan called La Pinta Verda (Green Comb), in which they connect the river space with existing plazas and parks perpendiculary.
We chose to make a longitunidal public space to connect the mountain with the axis of the Pinta Verda Plan in the other direction, parallel to the river. We prioritized pedestrians and bicycle mobility by leveling the walkway and the road, we made a connection with the mountain by choosing the color of the main material to match that of the soil of the moutain and the vegetation in it. We also improved the drainage system by implementing SUDS as division between the car lane and the pedestrian and bicycle areas. To give this caracter and variety we categorized different sections of each axis between: mountain, hill and valley and according to things that happened along the path we introduced different rythms through vegetation.
Finally, each one of us developed a part of the project using this self impossed rules.
