Holster and trigger guard for Glock 17 and 19

Working at Soitec I was tasked with the design and manufacture of a set of holsters and trigger guards for the Glock 17 and Glock 19 side arms for Daniel's Holsters (www.danielsholsters.co.za)
The products were to be batch produced using vacforming, trimming and line bending. The eyelets and leather belt loop were added by the client after manufacture.
The concept drawings are done in Sketchbook Pro on a Intuos 5 Large
A Glock 19 was reverse engineered and the final form of the plastic created around it in Solidworks.
The CAD of the vacform was then used to create a vacform mould and the various trimming jigs required to complete the manufacture of the product. The same goes for the trigger guard.
A number of quick renders were created for client approval. The trimming shape changed after the client approved the design based on the renderings
The final product is an ABS vacform shape which is line bent around a pattern. A belt loop is secured to the holster with eyelets As the product is a concealed holster the belt loop is on an arm which allows the user to tuck in their shirt between the holster and loop. The holster below is for a Glock 19, the 17 is not depicted but is essentially the same, save for a longer barrel.
The paracord line on the trigger guard loops through the user's belt. This pulls the guard off when the user brings up their weapon. Both trigger guard and belt loop feature retention screws which allow the user to adjust how securly the products hold the weapon.
