While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted
While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime
I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life
This look is based on corals of the sea that result in coral bleaching.
Warmer water temperatures result in coral bleaching. When water is too warm, corals expel the algae living in their tissues causing the coral to turn completely white,called coral bleaching. When a coral bleaches, it is not dead. They may survive a bleaching event, but they are under more stress and are subject to mortality.
They may survive a bleaching event as mentioned,but they just may not. Just may not.
Corals here, are longing to be back to life wanting to life with the will of accepting the sea as they could earlier. The makeup has been done hence taking in consideration the colours of the sea on the eye with light aqua and blue with pale coral near the brows to show its want for the sea. There are freckles on the eye and the cheek showing the texture of a bleached coral as well. The lips have been done in a coral pink hence – to show the will the jump into a young coral with colour, glee and will to want back the old times., similarly the skin tone – pale and white as a bleached coral. The hairdo is a irregular puffed bun with the corals and shells towards the left of the head showing the longing it has to live again. To breath , to be colourful, to be vibrant and add more and more joy to the mystic ocean and be a part of the sea again.
The hair and makeup is a subtle representation to life and death of a coral’s life.
There is life on one end and there is death. There is colour on one end or just meaningless freckles on one. This is a journey of a coral’s life affected due to bleaching and wanting to live., wanting to come back to life – which is anything but a miracle.
This is a journey through the sea.
How to be a part of it and still feel out of it. This is life.
Extremely uncertain , extremely humane – quite literally considering the will to live and a tale of colour and life for the world to see and learn.
