The name of Balcon was dictated by its location on the ground floor balcony of a large building on Furmanov Avenue in Almaty.

 

Minimalism. A European style with no frills. A simple, understated interior. Simple shapes and simple pieces on a very prosaic corner of an urban environment.

 

The essential principle in the design was perfection and harmony in the straight-lined structure of all integral forms within the interior, including the design of the ceiling, the bar, and through to the details.

 

Such minimalism corresponds more to the oriental Japanese traditions, just as the restrained range of colors, built on the contrasts and nuances of earthy hues. Nevertheless, a mix of classic European heritage is present in the nature of the general order of the space’s tectonics as well as in the details of the very unobtrusive décor.
