The impossibility of fully understanding my place and my purpose in this life is a condition
that has gripped me since I can remember.
Who am I? What is my purpose? In what dimension do I exist as a living being?
I can only affirm with certainty the existence of my consciousness, and I see as a stranger
everything around me, both on a material level and emotionally and spiritually speaking. I
feel as a stranger the world in which I find myself, and I cannot create tangible links with
the outside world.
I can only find myself in my thoughts, which form the only space where I move, live and
act consciously. The rest, the surrounding, the whole universe is like a single non-
objective representation created by my consciousness. From this condition of
extraneousness to myself arises a big conflict that affects all my living and consequently
also my research.

The photographs in this project are an attempt to project these feelings of mine onto the
world, and therefore into a universe made up of images. The photographic medium is
important to me, because it is the one I have chosen to represent my condition. The
photographs can be compared to mirrors that reflect everything that moves in my mind.
In these images the subject has lost its logical and chosen function, moving to a new level
of meaning. Paradoxically, I have tried to exploit the environment, the outside, what I
involuntarily disregard to reveal and make visible what I feel and live. The world tries to
regain sense and with the support of the photographic medium finds a concrete and
visible demonstration as I see it.

In these photographs a process of alienation of my person occurs, I remove myself from
my usual context and place myself in a new light, using the subjects portrayed as
reincarnation of me. In the act of taking a photograph, death and rebirth are combined.
This is a necessary step in trying to find meaning to my being.

Proiezioni is my thesis project, developed through 2020 and recently became a book.
