Orijinate to the Right Vibe

In 2018 I had the amazing opportunity of working on a pitch print ad for Orijin. At the time I was very much fascinated with text lead ads(still am) and I was able to incorporate words into the design.

In 2019 I attempted to come up with something better but failed to.
So when the client approached me to do one again in 2020, I took out time to tackle the brief as best I could.

The concept borders around getting into the new year with Orijin. After a lot of unfruitful brainstorming sessions, the idea of powering 2021 with Orijin occurred to me. I immediately did a very rough sketch I shared with the client.

My initial thoughts were to get the different png elements of the contents that make up the scene, but I kept running into perspective problems.
Since I've been on and off my journey with 3D, I decided to give this a go with Cinema 4D. I spent some time watching Neon sign and light tutorials on YouTube, the tutorial from Videofort helped a lot.
I took a generic bottle and built out my scene from there. I wanted to do my lighting and blending in photoshop but I figured I could do more in Cinema 4D to simulate the lights and I discovered the luminance channel.

I tried out using an infinite background render as the background but it was difficult making adjustments in photoshop. I rendered the scene as a png with the alpha channel.
In Photoshop I added the png files of Herbs, Fruits, Leaves to represent the brand's aesthetics.
I tried out two backgrounds for the final composition
The client preferred the green background as it resonated more with the brand. My final dilemma was adding words to break down the emphasis of the copy. After much celebration and trials, I choose to use cloud fonts for the typography.
To not make the positive words random and all over the screen, we resolved they be on the frame that had 2021.
I had a lot of fun working on this project, the mixture of 3D and 2D elements is finally off the bucket list.
