Writings for the Insane

Writing’s for the INSANE

“Writing’s for the Insane” was conceived over a weekend, designed to show-case my talents to an Indie publisher who specialises in this genre. I have always been fascinated by a great story, the unusual and the horror genre, growing up with the likes of Hammer, Roald Dahl’s “Tales of the Unexpected”, the music of Nick Cave and the Surrealist art movement.

My concept is influenced by a book in the public domain titled “On The Writing Of The Insane with illustrations”, by G. Mackenzie Bacon, M.D., a medical superintendent of the Cambridgeshire County Asylum and was published by John Churchill and Sons, in 1870.

I have taken images from the public domain that I think could be starting points for unusual stories based around my theme - just need some great words which alas, is not my speciality. The images are quite lo-res but could be used for print with some Photoshop and Illustrator tweaking but I think they get across the concept.
