Mrs. Eaves
Type Poster
For this project we were tasked with taking a type family and creating a poster that reflects its characteristics. My type face was Mrs. Eaves and after looking at the typeface for a while I decided that I wanted to express both its elegant traditional feel and its quirkiness. The ligatures really stood out to me and they seemed to also communicate the feelings I was going for. I enlarged the "sp" and used its form to create a layout that connected both the left/front and right/back. I played around a lot with creating patterns out of the ligatures and chose to included because it because it reminded me of old type ornaments and patterns used my European monarchies. For the colors I wanted them to be bold, but elegant. Purple and gold reference royalty and are balanced by the somber grey.
