From a humble FAX machine found in a thrift store to a mighty scorpion...
I went into this challenge knowing I wanted to take apart a printer of some kind, so I was really happy to find this little thing. In hindsight, I'm really glad I didn't go for anything bigger.
When I started taking it apart, I didn't know what I wanted to shape the pieces of the FAX machine into. But, as I went, the larger pieces really seemed to fit into a nice carapace, and the rest of the arachnid kinda just formed around it.
Laying out the pieces in the shape of a scorpion is one thing, but actually constructing one is a whole nother. I still followed the basic principles of the layout, but I decided to forego the legs and make it much, much smaller. A lot of hot glue and maybe a few burns later, I had this!
(It's still kinda big)
